TH 363 Apologetics (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Mondays, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
The course will evaluate and examine the argument for the truthfulness of Christianity. Emphasis will be given to the nature of truth, the existence of God, evil, hell, the reliability of the Bible, the deity of Christ, the resurrection of Christ and other elements which comprise the core doctrines of Christianity. In addition, the formation of the Christian Canon of Scripture will be explored and discussed. Subjects will include a study of biblical inspiration, canonization, transmission, translation and the role of archaeology, as it supports the reliability of the Scriptures.
EV 301 Introduction to Evangelism (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Mondays, 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.
This course teaches students the different biblical principles of evangelism. Students will be instructed on the purpose of evangelism, as referred to in the scriptures, as well as provide practical application in administering the things learned to those we encounter every day.
TH 387 Cults and World Religions (3 credits)
Meets weekly on Mondays, 7 p.m.- 10 p.m.
In I Peter 3:15, believers are encouraged to “…always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks…” When faced with a question from a member of another religion or cult, are you equipped to respond biblically? In Cults & Religions, students will be introduced to the origin, history, philosophy, theology and practices of the major world religions. Some of the religions covered will be Hinduism, Buddhism, Secular Humanism, Islam, the New Age Movement, Roman Catholicism, Jehovah’s Witness and Mormonism. Each belief system will be described and evaluated to equip students for effective evangelism, to reach the lost world by pulling them out of the fire.
OT 372 The Life of David (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Mondays, 7 p.m.-10p.m.
David, described by God as, “a man after mine own heart,” is a deeply- spiritual man and yet, at other times, he was a very physical and fleshly man. He was a man of contrasts: a warrior, a worshipper and a
womanizer. As we look at David’s life, through the record of Scripture, and into his words written in the psalms, we will marvel at the heights to which he rose and the depths to which he fell.
NT 302 Survey of the New Testament II (3 credits)
Meets once a month on Mondays, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A verse-by-verse study from Romans to Revelation, taught from Pastor Chuck Smith’s (Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa) C2000 series. There are 79 messages, averaging an hour per message.
*PT 321 Sermon Preparation (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Tuesdays 7 p.m.-9:00p.m.
This class will teach you how to prepare a sermon, taking you from the Scripture to an outline, finishing with a sermon. In order to master this skill, you will learn how to correctly use hermeneutics to form the various types of sermons. By semester end, students will be equipped with the necessary tools to teach and preach the Word of God, incorporating literature types and biblical figures of speech.

TH 308 Basic Biblical Doctrines 2 (Spanish) (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Tuesdays 7p.m.-9p.m.
Esta clase es ideal para la persona que lleva poco o mucho tiempo en el Señor, quien desea tener un fundamento sólido de lo que cree y busca profundizar en su caminar y anhela compartir con los demás. Los alumnos estudiarán temas bíblicos desde una perspectiva teológica y doctrinal. Se trata de una enseñanza sistemática de las verdades bíblicas, que proporcionará un recurso para todos aquellos que buscan conocer la sana doctrina. Los temas tratados serán: Antropología, el origen y fin del hombre; Hamartiología, la doctrina y la naturaleza del pecado, Soteriología, las enseñanzas bíblicas sobre la salvación y la Escatología, las cosas sobre el fin de los tiempos o los últimos días.
MI 301 Biblical Basis and Principles of Missions (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Tuesdays 7p.m.- 9p.m.
This class will focus on the theological and practical elements of mission work. Students will study the Biblical basis of missions, focusing on the life of Paul in the Book of Acts and some of his epistles. Students will learn principles they need to practically apply, in their missionary endeavors.
CM 199 Practical Christian Ministry (1 credit)
Meets once a month on Tuesdays, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
This hands-on experience will help students apply practical aspects of Christianity and servant-hood, as well as equip them to better use their time and gifts for the Lord. Students will discover their spiritual gifts and exercise them, they serve in two ministries within their home church. This class meets monthly, with devotions and studies given by the instructor. This is a core class, needed for graduation.
NT 409 Pastoral Epistles (2 credits)
Meets weekly on Thursdays, 9 a.m.-11a.m.
This class will study, the important issues in the church, verse by verse in the Bible. In his letters to Timothy and Titus, Paul gave these young pastors encouragement and instruction about false doctrine, worship in the church, choosing leaders and the proper treatment of those in the church.
NT 377 The Book of Revelation (3 credits)
Meets weekly on Thursdays, 7p.m.-10p.m.
In this course, students will seek a biblical understanding, in their hearts and minds, of the events God has foretold, through His prophets, concerning the Last Days. The purpose of this course is to understand where we are in prophecy and what lies ahead for the Church.
NT 369 Hebrews (3 credits)
Meets weekly on Thursdays, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
Through Jesus’ work on the cross, believers have the privilege to “…come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). The Book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians to point them to Jesus, who is superior to angels, prophets and past revelations. Hebrews builds a bridge between the Old and New Testaments, as well as explaining how rest can be found in Jesus, rather than in works. Through this study, believers can rest in His promises and in His finished redemption.
NT 412 The Life of Christ (3 credits)
Meets weekly on Thursdays, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
Students will follow the earthly life of Christ, studying the four Gospels chronologically. This course will give insight to the life and ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
