About Chile

Chile is an elongated, narrow country, situated along the Western coast of the southern zone of South America, between the highest region of the Andes Mountain range and the Pacific Ocean.

Its form is unique; one of the longest countries in the world at 4,300 km in length, but also one of the most narrow, with an average width of 18 km. It is bordered by 3 countries, with Peru in the north, Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east and the Chilean Antarctic Territory to the south.

The population of Chile exceeds 16 million. Approx. 90% of the population is of the Catholic faith; with their official language as Spanish.
